Email address requirements

2026-02-18

Dear authors and reviewers,

The Editorial Board of the Journal of Ecology and Sustainability asks you to follow these email requirements to receive system notifications from https://jes.enu.kz/.

The journal uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. With some email providers, OJS notifications may not reach recipients or may be placed in Spam or Trash folders. This can disrupt communication during article submission, peer review and editorial correspondence.

Please follow these rules when registering and corresponding with the editorial office:

  1. Give preference to institutional email addresses provided by universities, research organisations and other official institutions. Examples include @enu.kz, @edu.kz and @kaznu.kz. Enter your address correctly and check that it is active and receives system notifications.
  2. If you cannot use an institutional email address, a Gmail (@gmail.com) address is permitted. It must be active and consistently receive system notifications.
  3. Do not use @mail.ru, @yandex.ru, @bk.ru, @inbox.ru or @list.ru addresses for registration or as your primary contact address for editorial correspondence. Other personal email services, except Gmail, should also not be used as your primary contact address.
  4. If you previously registered with an address on one of these domains or do not receive system notifications, replace it with an active institutional or Gmail address in your user profile and save the changes.

The editorial office must verify reviewers’ email addresses when registering reviewers and assigning them to manuscripts. Reviewers who are already registered are asked to use their institutional email address for future editorial correspondence and work in OJS, or Gmail if an institutional address is unavailable.

Sincerely,
Editorial Board of the Journal of Ecology and Sustainability
